Lib Dem 2019 Candidates announced for Lincoln and North Kesteven

We are proud to announce that we have a full slate of candidates standing in Lincoln for this years elections on 2nd May 2019, as well as three candidates in North Kesteven.

In North Kesteven we are the only opposition to the Tories in two wards, North Hykeham Mill and North Hykeham Moor with our hardworking candidates Corinne Byron and George Tipler respectively. Tony Richardson, a local parish councillor is standing in Skellingthorpe and is fighting hard against the closure of the local GP practice.

In Lincoln we have a talented slate standing in every single ward, with an average age of 28 we are fighting against the current statistics that councillors are vastly over 60 and retired. All our candidates know what it's like working in the current climate and are not detached from the issues that they deal with when talking with local people.

In wards such as Carholme we are the main opposition to the ruling Labour party where we achieved the largest increase in votes out of any ward in Lincoln last year, our candidate Oliver Craven is looking to do even better this May after working hard all year.

Council Wastes £13 Million on Hotel

This week it was announced that the Labour run City of Lincoln council has bought the under-construction Travelodge hotel off the East-West link road.

The council is spending £13 million to buy the building and then leasing it back to Travelodge for 25 years. However, it will take over 30 years for the council to make a profit on it’s purchase, by anyone’s analysis that looks like a very bad deal.
